Ghosts, Gadgets & Guinness: A Haunted Night at The Augusta Pub
Friday the 13th. A full moon rising over the river. And a group of curious skeptics armed with ghost-hunting gadgets and an appetite for good food—and maybe a few spirits of both kinds.
Our evening began the best way any night in Augusta should: with dinner at The Augusta Pub. From local favorites to pub classics, it’s the kind of place where the food is warm, the drinks are cold, and the conversation flows easily—especially when you’re seated with a crew like Blue Collar Paranormal.
After we filled up on burgers and bourbon, the mood quickly shifted from casual to chilling. We gathered around as the Blue Collar team shared some of the haunting history of the pub. Stories of untimely deaths, lingering spirits, and eerie happenings dating all the way back to Native American times had us all leaning in closer.

Then came ghost-hunting 101. We were handed flashlights, EMF detectors, and the infamous Spirit Talker app. Our destination: the pub’s dimly lit basement. It was quiet. Too quiet. And while no one screamed (loudly), things definitely got… strange.
The flashlight, placed on the floor and untouched, would mysteriously flicker on and off—sometimes in direct response to our questions. The Spirit Talker offered cryptic words that sent shivers down more than a few spines.
Are we now believers? Maybe not completely. But we are believers in how much fun it was to explore the pub after hours, learn about Augusta’s darker side, and try something completely out of the ordinary.
If you’re curious to see what might go bump in the night, plan your own ghost-hunting evening. Book a room at The Benchmark Inn, enjoy dinner and drinks at The Augusta Pub, and see for yourself what lurks after dark.
Who knows—maybe the spirits will speak to you, too.
